My daughter was invited to tryout K-STAR Training Academy by the head instructor, Philip Sahagun. She began working out in December and confirmed what Philip had suspected, she adapted to the martial arts very well. Elena is under direct instruction three times a week and works on her technique at home. Her progress to date has been impressive. I highly recommend the K-STAR Training Academy. The instructors are knowledgeable, the facilities are modern, the environment is very positive and affirming, and everyone is helpful. The students here are learning more than simply how to punch and kick. They are learning life skills by being exposed to a blend of East meets West philosophy.

K-star is a first class facility, and Coach Philip is as good as it gets as an instructor. As an Athletic Trainer and Sports Physical Therapist, who has also trained in Martial Arts, I've been around a lot of coaches, and can say that Coach Philip is one of the best I've ever seen. Besides his world class skill and knowledge in several different Martial Arts, he is a talented teacher, and is fantastic at explaining the "why" regarding training methods, which I feel many martial arts instructors skip over. On top of that, it is clear that he truly cares about the personal development of all of his students and is personally invested in their success. I trust him completely with my kids.

Philip is an exceptional instructor. I am from the East Coast and have traveled cross country and to China for the opportunity to train with him. He will push you beyond your own limits, challenge and inspire you. He is passionate about the arts. It’s more than punching and kicking for him, it’s mind, body and spirit. I wanted to sign my daughter up for the contortion classes, she is a cheerleader who really wanted to level-up her flexibility. Coach Ulzi is a true expert and an amazing teacher, we are already making real progress after a few weeks.
The rest of our family already trains in martial arts, and they have a great family membership price, so we all signed up to do some classes. They have a great variety of classes like conditioning, combat, flexibility, as well as martial arts classes. The gym is large, modern, and has a really positive vibes. Great coaches and you get to train with some very talented athletes
